In a globalized world, international labor standards issued by the International Labor Organization constitute the international legal framework, which, together with various treaties protecting human rights, enshrined the rights of workers and their minimum guarantees. Collectively, these rules are called the international labor regim e. In this context, maternity leave stands as a social and economic policy that is part of the international system, but because of its relation to the protection of the rights of working women and children’s fundamental rights, it has been developed throu gh multiple legal instruments, which have been approved by the Colombian state. Thus, in Colombia, maternity leave has been recognized since the Constitution of 1991 was passed. Since then, its development in the domestic legal order has been mainly throug h the rulings of the Colombian Constitutional Court.Downloads
