Analectical Psychology as a Transmodern Praxis: Three Theoretico-Practical Resources from the Underside of Modernity

Abstract
Objective. This theoretical article aimed to question the coloniality of psychology as a modern scientific discipline and the silence of critical psychology in the face of such coloniality. Method. Through a theoretical discussion of texts on Enrique Dussel’s philosophy of liberation. Results. It is argued that analectical psychology constitutes a transmodern praxis that transcends the Eurocentric positions of critical modernism and postmodernism, both of which constitute critiques of modernity formulated from within. Conclusions. Transmodernity, understood both as a decolonial and material praxis, represents the best of modernity and its alterity, that is, non-European peoples. The article concludes by presenting three theoretical-practical resources Indigenous, Black, and Global Southern, emerging from the underside of modernity.
