Escalas para medir adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2: Una revisión narrativa

Resumen

La diabetes mellitus es un trastorno metabólico caracterizado por hiperglucemia la cual si no es manejada se asocia con daño y disfunción de diferentes tejidos y órganos. Se calcula que 422 millones de adultos padecen diabetes alrededor del mundo por lo cual la importancia de la adherencia terapéutica que se refiere al grado en que el comportamiento de una persona, en cuanto a la toma de medicamentos, el seguimiento de la dieta y la realización de cambios en el estilo de vida, se corresponde con las recomendaciones acordadas por un profesional de la salud. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo hacer una revisión narrativa en donde se busca evaluar los métodos empleados para adherencia farmacológica en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 y de esa manera determinar cuáles son las estrategias más eficaces para mejorar la adherencia terapéutica en pacientes con diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus tipo 2.
