Abstract

This paper analyzes Decree 1299 (2008) in light of Colombian environmental law. The article begins with a legal description of Decree 1299 and turns to an analysis of the reasons that underpin it as a mandatory and public legal instrument. Afterward, the article presents some key introductory concepts for further study of the new regulation. The paper ends by pointing to some features of Decree 1299.
