Abstract

Objective. To design and validate a psychological test to measure sport-related cohesion in the interpersonal
needs of sports teams in cooperation-opposition activities. Método. A validation study was carried out. The
sample consisted of 150 sports participants, belonging to 10 groups: 103 from football, 32 handball and 15
hockey. A trial test was applied for the statistical analysis of all the items. Results. A final test consisting of
51 items distributed over six categories was performed: 9 - inclusion in training, 9 – controlled training, 8 –
willingness to train, 9 – inclusion in competition, 9 – controlled competition, and 7 – willingness to compete.
Kuder’s reliability coefficient was 86%, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient for the six categories produced
values of between 0.33 and 0.53. Test norms were established for the respective score ranges. Conclusions. The
findings respond to the interest in measuring the sport-related cohesion related to interpersonal needs of sports
teams. The test, designed and validated, is useful from the theoretical and practical point of view.
