Abstract

Development from an ethical and humanistic point of view can be likened to satisfaction
with life and happiness. In turn, goals of life are ways of understanding the ultimate aims
of human existence. In people’
s subjective view
, development can be seen as maximum
fulfillment and personal happiness. Zen and other authors of the nineties and the start of
the new millennium, point out that aspects such as governability
, democracy
, social capital
values, possessions and abilities perceived by people are there to af
fect development.
This article is an invitation to consider these categories as a working proposal which can
be fruitful for psychologists and economists as a common topic of welfare and quality of
life of people in society.
